Quartzen opened on Damnoen Kasem Road after its founder spent over fifteen years repairing watches in Bangkok — first in a larger shop, then independently. The move to Hua Hin was a deliberate one: a smaller town suited a smaller, more considered operation. Fewer customers, more attention per piece.

The name comes from quartz — the material at the heart of every battery-powered watch movement. It was chosen to signal something plain and direct: this is a workshop, not a boutique. The work here is physical and unhurried.

Most customers arrive because a watch they care about has stopped keeping time, or stopped running altogether. Some come with pieces that belonged to parents or grandparents. Others bring watches they've worn every day for years and want properly looked after. All of it is welcome.

The workshop handles three defined services: battery replacement with a water-resistance check, full mechanical movement servicing, and vintage piece restoration. The scope of each is clear, and the price is stated plainly. Nothing is dressed up or bundled to seem more than it is.

We do not advertise a quick turnaround as a selling point. A mechanical movement that has just been cleaned and lubricated needs several days on a timing machine before it can be called regulated. Cutting that step short produces a movement that looks serviced but runs unevenly inside six months. We don't do that.

Hua Hin has a mix of long-term residents and visitors. We see watches from Swiss manufacturers, Japanese microbrands, and the occasional Thai-market piece from decades past. The work suits all of them, as long as it's mechanical or quartz.
