Each clearly defined.

Every watch that comes into Quartzen is handled the same way regardless of service level: it's examined, logged, and given a reference number. Nothing is started until the scope and price have been agreed. If the examination reveals anything that changes the expected cost, we stop and call you.

For mechanical work specifically, we don't skip the timing observation period. Assembling a movement and checking it once is not the same as observing it over several days across positions. The timing machine reading after assembly gives us a baseline; the readings taken over three to five days tell us whether that baseline holds.

Parts sourcing is handled by a dedicated member of the team. For standard services, parts are drawn from stock or ordered from verified Thai and Japanese suppliers. For vintage restoration, sourcing can take weeks and may involve contacting specialist dealers in multiple countries. We give an honest timeline when sourcing is involved and update you if it changes.

We keep records of all work. When you collect your watch, you receive a written condition report (for movement-level services) and, for restoration clients, a photographic log of the work carried out. These become part of the piece's service history.
